Jakarta – Mayapada Eye Centre announced an innovative collaboration with Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) on Friday, October 18, 2024. This partnership aims to raise awareness about the importance of eye health among professionals in the fashion industry, marking a significant step in integrating health and fashion through various educational and preventive activities.
One of the main initiatives of this collaboration was the “Gorgeous Looks, Healthy Eyes” event, held on September 24, 2024. The event focused on safe makeup techniques that prioritize eye health, especially for professional makeup artists. Additionally, eye health check-ups were conducted for models and makeup artists who will be participating in Jakarta Fashion Week 2025.
“We believe that maintaining eye health is simple yet crucial. The eyes are the window to the world, and good eye health greatly influences one’s appearance and quality of life,” said Putu Deddy Suhartawan, Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Mayapada Eye Centre, during the agreement signing ceremony at Mayapada Hospital South Jakarta on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Through this collaboration, Mayapada Eye Centre is committed to educating fashion professionals on the importance of proper eye care.
Medical examinations conducted as part of this partnership will help identify overall eye conditions, including eye contour, corneal thickness, and retinal health. This step is expected to help professionals maintain optimal eye health.
Beyond industry professionals, this collaboration also aims to reach the wider community through public awareness campaigns involving various organizations in conjunction with Jakarta Fashion Week 2025.
Svida Alisjahbana, COO of Jakarta Fashion Week, also emphasized the importance of eye health awareness, particularly among the younger generation.
“Nowadays, eye diseases develop much earlier because young people spend so much time on gadgets, from morning to night. If they don’t take care of their eyes, their vision will deteriorate over time,” explained Svida Alisjahbana during the agreement signing ceremony at Mayapada Hospital South Jakarta on Friday, October 18, 2024.
