dr. Kianti Raisa Darusman, Sp.M(K), M.Med.Sci is a consultant ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, focusing on children’s eye health and ocular alignment disorders. With over a decade of clinical experience, she manages a wide range of conditions, including refractive errors, amblyopia, strabismus, and congenital eye disorders in children.
dr. Kianti completed her medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine, Trisakti University, Jakarta in 2003. She then pursued her ophthalmology residency at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia – Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM), graduating in 2008. To further enhance her expertise in pediatric ophthalmology, she undertook a Clinical Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at National University Hospital, Singapore from 2010 to 2011.
She also obtained a Master of Medical Science in Vision and Strabismus from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, strengthening her competencies in comprehensive diagnosis and evidence-based management of pediatric visual disorders.
In her professional career, dr. Kianti is actively involved in various national and international organizations, including the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (PERDAMI), the World Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WSPOS), and the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). She regularly participates as a speaker in scientific forums and contributes to the development of education and eye health policies.
Beyond her clinical practice, dr. Kianti is strongly committed to improving access to and awareness of children’s eye health in the community. She is actively involved in school-based screening programs, eye health education for parents and teachers, and collaborative initiatives with primary healthcare providers for early detection of visual disorders in children. This approach reflects her vision of integrating clinical services with sustainable promotive and preventive efforts.
In addition, she is actively engaged in scientific research in ophthalmology, particularly in pediatric eye health and refractive errors, with several publications in international medical journals.
