Dr. Maria Larasati Susyono, Sp.M, is an experienced ophthalmologist specializing in clinical ophthalmology and eye surgery in Indonesia. Based in South Tangerang, Banten, Dr. Maria currently provides patient care at Mayapada Eye Centre, delivering services with a professional, meticulous approach in accordance with established medical standards. She completed her medical degree and ophthalmology specialization at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, and continues to advance her expertise through clinical practice, academic involvement, and international exposure, including an observership at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC), the Netherlands. In addition, Dr. Maria serves as a lecturer at Pelita Harapan University (UPH), reflecting her commitment to the development of ophthalmic medical education in Indonesia.

In the scientific field, Dr. Maria has been actively involved in research, including studies comparing intravitreal triamcinolone and bevacizumab as adjuvant therapies for diabetic macular edema, as well as an observational study on the prevalence and characteristics of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital. These contributions reflect her strong interest in the advancement of evidence-based medicine in ophthalmology.

Dr. Maria’s dedication is further demonstrated through her active involvement in professional organizations, including the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (PERDAMI), the Indonesian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (INASCRS), and the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI). During her residency training, she held leadership roles as Coordinator of Ophthalmic Surgical Social Services and Head of the Ophthalmology Residents’ Education Section at the Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia.
