DR. Umar Mardianto, MD, PhD, SpM(K), is a consultant ophthalmologist who completed his medical degree at the University of Indonesia in 1998, before pursuing his specialization in ophthalmology at the same university and graduating in 2007. He later earned his doctoral degree (PhD) in Medical Sciences from the University of Indonesia in 2025. In addition to his role as a clinician, he also serves as a lecturer in Ophthalmology at the University of Indonesia, demonstrating his dual dedication to both medical service and education.
He specializes in the field of refraction and visual rehabilitation, including the management of low vision and correction of refractive disorders that affect visual quality. With precision and extensive clinical experience, he helps patients achieve better vision and improve their quality of life.
To continually enhance his expertise, Dr. Umar has participated in various international training programs and observerships, including in Singapore and the United States. He is also an active speaker at scientific forums such as the Annual Scientific Meeting of PERDAMI (The Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association). Furthermore, he has been productive in research and scientific publications in ophthalmology, covering topics such as myopia, presbyopia, refractive surgery, and has been actively involved in social initiatives for cataract blindness prevention through PERDAMI.
